a wind turbine wake? There is a turbine about 500 m south of the 200S at a bearing of 170 deg. The winds are out of 030 deg.
There is also a row of 4 turbines about 2200 m south of the 200S.

Good day time wake case
Today (August 24) is a great day for looking at day time wakes. The flow is from the SSE and some of the wakes are blowing straight to the 200S lidar. Winds are also strong at 8 to 10 m/s at the A2 site. All 3 profiling LIDARs are getting excellent data recovery at all heights and the 200S is recovering data from beyond the A1 site.
There have also been a few night time conditions in the last week that should help night time wake analysis.

A nice case study from the evening of July 3 & 4 UTC
Is speed up in the rotor region further into the wind farm due to turbines?
The wind directions have not been rotated to adjust for any instrument alignment errors.
Look at all that extra turbulent energy downwind of the turbines!

Winds are blowing and wakes are propagating!
Tonight (4 July 0000 UTC+) we will likely have our first case study!
When Branko and I visited the windcubes this afternoon to install the modem at A2, we noticed winds were rotating from NEly to SEly and very slow, ~ 3m/s.
This evening, we have perfect SEly winds. At A3, we can clearly see the wake in the profile
especially when compared to the clean profile at A1:
Veer has not yet developed under the LLJ, but it's great to see some wakes!
The radiometer is not yet online (we will try again to install a US Cellular USB modem on Friday) but is collecting data.
